Sony’s future PlayStation VR2 may perhaps start in early 2023, according to a tech market analyst.
Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF Worldwide Securities, mentioned that he thinks that Sony will commence mass manufacturing on the headset later this year.
Kuo tweeted (via VGC) about the following-gen virtual reality hardware, saying:
“My most current provide chain look at indicates that the assembler and a number of component suppliers of PS VR2 will get started mass output with about 1.5M models shipments in [the second half of] 2022. Sony may launch it in Q1 23, depending on the enhancement agenda of PS VR2 recreation titles.”
Sony uncovered PS VR2 back again in February, displaying off the headset and the nifty new controllers. (They use haptic opinions and adaptive triggers, like the PlayStation 5 controller.)
Apparently the unit is likely to start with about twenty “major” video games, which will be equally very first and 3rd celebration. That is very good information, but I nevertheless question if it will be sufficient to coax men and women over to V.R. The 1st PlayStation VR headset was a good piece of components. I relished the likes of Wolfenstein Cyberpilot and Blood & Truth of the matter. And it is heartening to see Sony renew the longevity of V.R. in typical, offering several studios a new lease of life.
But will it be ample?
